Hi All! I wrote the following poem last year after a teacher told another parent that my expectations for Nevada were too high and I was unrealistic about what he could do. Just wanted to share it with all of you.
MY SON CAN
My son can stand tall with his leg braces and someone to support him so he won't fall My son can sit if you help him and hold him tight My son can speak with his eyes, his smiles, and his mystique My son can love and believe me that is a gift from above My son can be your friend all he needs is a helping hand There are so many things my son can do if you believe in him, as I do Because without belief and hope and understanding we would all fail And what a shame to not have even tried Because, in trying, we can say I truly did my best And what more can anyone ask?
